Project Description
DESCRIPTION
On this excursion, we will take a moderate hike in the center of the island within the Betancuria Rural Park in the area known as Barranco de las Peñitas, and we will combine it with Betancuria and La Pared.
We will drive to the north-central part of the island to make a short stop at the Guize y Ayoze viewpoint, where we will have magnificent views of the north of the island and the Betancuria Valley. After this short stop, we will head to Betancuria, the first Castilian capital after the conquest of the Canary Islands. After visiting this charming enclave (it is on the list of the most beautiful villages in Spain), we will have 45 minutes of free time to explore its streets, museums, and church, or simply have a drink in one of the many cafes in the area.
After this short stop, we will head to La Vega de Rio Palmas to walk into the beautiful Las Peñitas gorge. We will descend to the small chapel and then retrace our steps to the dam, from where we will have a magnificent panoramic view of one of the most beautiful landscapes in Fuerteventura. After taking the obligatory photos, we will retrace our steps to the vehicle and continue our journey to the wild coast of La Pared, where we will make a short stop to admire the majestic coastline.
